Martini Oreste (Mantua 1893-1957) is one of the 20th century more representative lute-makers, who devoted themselves to double-bass making (he was also a double-bassist). He built nearly 40 double-basses. He chose different models, but all recognizable by the Mantua school characteristics (he studied with Stefano Scarampella).
